Ana's Story
Accepted AND UNderstood
I had met other counsellors before, but with Hugo, it was the first time I felt deeply accepted and understood.
I met Hugo when I lived alone in the small village. I was very depressed and anxious, and on a particular day, I planned to commit suicide. But, fortunately, something inside me told me that I needed help. I search the Web for suicide prevention phone numbers to find out that they were only available during the week. It was a Saturday.
Then I ran into Hugo’s website, and I don’t know why but it captivated my attention. Somewhere on the website, it said, "take the first step and contact me". That's what I did! We had just a few sessions, but the help Hugo provided me was excellent. I had met other counsellors before, but with Hugo, it was the first time I felt deeply accepted and understood. Hugo wasn’t just listening; our conversations were dynamic. He allowed me to see that I, at that moment in my life, had a very limited perception, and dark view of life. I gained so much strength to continue my journey in life, with the natural ups and downs, but with a stronger awareness and happiness since then.
I am very grateful, Hugo.
